The Instructional Design team provides services to help faculty design quality face-to-face and online courses. Whether developing a new course or program, transitioning courses to an online format, improving an existing course, meeting accessibility and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) standards, or learning how to use various learning technologies, the designers have the skills to help.

We Can Help You…
Design New Courses
Designing a new course or moving a course to a new format, such as face-to-face to online, can be overwhelming. We are here to help! Work with an instructional designer (ID) to design and develop courses that promote the achievement of learning objectives through engaging learning activities, assessments, and instructional materials. Discuss with an ID which learning technologies are best to implement for your course, how to incorporate Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles, and how to make content more accessible.
OLT also offers a Designing Your Course workshop and online course. View the Workshops page for more information.
Improve Existing Courses
Brainstorm ideas for improving your existing courses. Discuss ideas for options for content delivery, assessments, or activities. This can be anything from one specific project or how to improve the entire course.
Solve Problems During Course Delivery
You are not alone after the course is built. Feel free to reach out to an ID any time during the semester. Instructors often reach out with questions such as how to best utilize the SpeedGrader and how to moderate quizzes to provide a student accommodation.
Use Learning Technologies Effectively
OLT offers several workshops on Canvas and other learning technologies such as Harmonize and PlayPosit. View the Workshops page for more information.
