The Executive Branch of USGA consists of elected and appointed officers chosen to represent the undergraduate students at UAB. The President, Executive Vice President, Vice President of Communications, Vice President of Finance, Vice President of Student Services, and Chief of Staff form the Executive Council. Students are then appointed to the Executive Cabinet through a careful selection process following the selection of the Executive Council.

The Executive Branch can generally be summarized as a composite of three divisions: Student Services, Finance, and Communications. This branch is responsible for overseeing the general operation of the USGA while being a liaison between the students and the UAB administration.

Lobby Board

The USGA Lobby Board, established in 2024, is a subsection of USGA dedicated to dedicated group of students committed to advocating on behalf of the SGA and the wider UAB student body. The Lobby Board works to increase awareness of key initiatives. The Lobby Board helps connect UAB students with the broader Birmingham landscape, creating opportunities for dialogue, idea-sharing, and collective progress. As a nonpartisan body, the Lobby Board represents the diverse perspectives of UAB students, striving to ensure that every voice is heard and that advocacy efforts reflect the inclusive spirit of the university.

Election Commission

The Election Commission comprises a group of students who are dedicated to running the yearly USGA Elections. This challenging task requires both dedication and confidentiality. Ensuring the student body is able to know their potential leaders is essential, and the Election Commission does just that. Working behind the scenes, they carefully plan and guide this organization into the future, led by the Election Manager.

Freshman Forum

The Undergraduate Student Association of UAB's Freshman Forum is a longstanding and deeply held group of first-year students at UAB who aim to make positive changes in the campus environment. With regular meetings, the students are empowered to take charge of the future of this organization and the university. Led by the Director(s) of the program, this group strengthens bonds between the cohort that last. As a member of the cohort, first-year students learn the intricate structure of this organization and how we operate to ensure a better future for the university. Being on Freshman Forum means representing the larger university early on. Want to learn more? Check out the Freshman Forum page of our website, where you can meet our directors and the current cohort.
