Sports & Exercise Medicine Opportunities

Rotations

UAB Sports & Exercise Medicine offers hands-on rotation opportunities for Primary Care Residents and Fellows in a dynamic academic and clinical setting. As part of our ACGME-accredited fellowship program, residents and fellows gain experience in musculoskeletal care, ultrasound, concussion management, and more. With exposure to a wide range of athletes and a strong multidisciplinary team, these rotations enhance clinical skills while fostering growth in education, research, and patient care.

Shadowing

UAB Sports & Exercise Medicine offers shadowing opportunities for current and aspiring medical students interested in sports medicine. Students can observe our physicians in clinical and sideline settings, gaining insight into primary care sports medicine, injury management, exercise-based care, and the interdisciplinary approach we take alongside athletic trainers, physical therapists, and orthopaedic specialists. These experiences foster early mentorship and professional growth within the field.
