Ahmed M. Khalaf, M.D., was born in Cairo, Egypt, and spent four years in Paris, France, where he learned French. His passion for radiology led him to the U.S. in 2013 as a visiting international medical student at SUNY Upstate Medical University and UAB. After completing his internship and earning his medical license in Egypt, he returned to work as a senior research assistant at MD Anderson Cancer Center. In 2017, he joined UAB Radiology as a research fellow and became UAB’s first CT Radiologist Assistant (CTRA) in 2019. Delighted to continue his radiology training at UAB, Dr. Khalaf brings years of dedication to the field. Outside the hospital, he enjoys time with his wife, energetic daughter, and newborn son.
