Research in a virtual system
When a researcher on campus needed help running a specialized software, UAB IT teams including Research Computing, Desktop, Identity Management, and Systems and Server Support collaborated with each other and the researcher to find the best solution — one that is cost-effective and efficient and can now be applied to other departments, if needed.
Performance management
When the Heersink School of Medicine pediatrics department needed a new way to hold conversations about performance management, UAB IT's Applications and Consulting team worked closely with the pediatrics chair and faculty members to ensure that this new app would have everything they need when tracking training and clinic hours and adding goals.
Student success chatbot
UAB Office of the Provost, UAB Marketing and Communications, and UAB Information Technology joined forces to merge the power of dragons and AI to produce the new student success chatbot. BlazeBot lives in the myUAB portal and UAB mobile app. It was designed to help answer questions quickly, so students can get back to what matters the most.
