I joined the CEM program to enhance my personal and professional development, and to assume a greater responsibility in my current field. I looked at similar programs from other colleges, but after doing a comparison I decided that the UAB program would better suite me.

Earning this degree was a big factor in negotiating my current salary because the amount was more than what the company had budgeted, but they could quickly see the value of this degree.

I learned that to be competitive in this industry you must obtain degrees and certifications. The CEM degree program was incredible. It is like they took a knife and said we are going to cut out every bit of the fat and only keep what is absolutely practical. It was worth every bit of money that I put into it.

I knew that earning a master's degree would make me more valuable for my company and within the construction industry.

The CEM program has been the best education that I ever received. What I learned in the classroom and what I was doing on the jobsite went together. The knowledge from this program has exceeded my expectations, but my favorite part was the connections that I made with my classmates during group projects.

Because of the classes in the CEM program, I have gained a greater confidence in the work that I do every day. My supervisor would agree, because some of the younger folks in our company are starting the CEM program right now. Leaving the military and preparing to return to the civilian construction industry after almost eleven years, I knew that I would need to retool my construction knowledge to be competitive for employment. The CEM program offered the online flexibility that I needed, and it covered the current relevant course material. I now have new tools and resources to help face the challenges required in the construction industry.

Since I started this program I have earned my PMP and LEED AP certifications. The courses offered in the CEM program makes acquiring these certifications such a breeze. This program has certainly expedited my construction career.
