David leads UAB’s Office of Learning Technologies within the Center for Teaching and Learning, putting learning first by partnering with faculty to elevate teaching in online, hybrid, and face-to-face courses. Drawing on an early career in communications and later work as a professor and director of online learning and faculty development, he strives to provide faculty with evidence-based pedagogical solutions.

Prior to a career in higher education, he served in K12 settings as a teacher and counselor and has had extensive work through the years producing a variety of media. He holds degrees in Mass Communication, Community Counseling, and Family Therapy/Child & Family Development.
