The Fall 2026 BSMART & Get the Bag workshop series will kick off with a focus on student health and success. The event, VAXXED & Ready, will take place Wednesday, Sept. 9, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Cahaba A & B, Gold Hall. 

Students can stop by to learn about UAB’s immunization requirements, preventive health practices, the student insurance waiver and healthcare resources available through Student Health Services. You’ll also have an opportunity to review your immunization status, identify any outstanding requirements and get guidance on completing them before an Immunization (IM) Hold creates a barrier to registration.

Presented in partnership with Student Health Services and First Year Experience, VAXXED & Ready brings essential resources directly to students in their residence hall and highlights the connection between taking care of your health and staying on track academically.

All undergraduate students are encouraged to attend. This event also focuses on helping first-year freshmen, first-year transfer, and first-generation students.
