Want more out of your summer experience? UAB Campus Recreation is offering outdoor escapades through its Adventure Recreation's Outdoor Pursuits program. The three remaining trips for the 2015-2016 schedule include visits to Nantahala, Glacier National Park, and the Grand Canyon.

UAB’s Quang Do named 2016 White House “Champion for Change”
Quang Do, a student leadership staffer, is among a group of 10 people selected from across the country as “White House Champions of Change for Asian-American and Pacific Islander Art and Storytelling.” He will travel to Washington, D.C., for a two-day visit May 4-5.

Student Nurses’ Association wins Outstanding Student Organization at UAB’s Student Excellence Awards
The Student Excellence Awards honors UAB students and student organizations for their outstanding contributions to campus life in leadership and service. There are currently 256 registered student organizations on campus. This year, 112 nominations were submitted for the 15 award categories.

UAB Student Affairs wins awards at Alabama NASPA Conference
UAB Student Affairs professionals participated in the 2016 Alabama NASPA Drive-In Conference. Several UAB staff received awards at the conference and nine of the UAB staff attending presented programs at the drive-in conference.

Professional Development Committee hosts one-day conference
On May 12, 2017, UAB Student Affairs Professional Development Committee will host a one-day conference for Student Affairs professionals and students. UAB staff will give presentations on their work and best practices in the profession.
