Dear Fellow Blazers,

I am excited and grateful to serve as UAB Staff Council Chair for the 2025-2026 cycle. UAB is truly a second home to me. I grew up on this campus and have earned two degrees from UAB. I even met my spouse at UAB when we were both undergraduates almost 20 years ago. I have worked at UAB for more than 13 years in the areas of student services and enrollment operations. I’m proud of my collection of photos with Blaze, and it’s safe to say that I bleed green and gold!

I have served as an elected representative on the UAB Staff Council consecutively since 2018. In that time, I have seen a great deal of growth and change at the institution. I am so proud of the work that the Staff Council does through the efforts of our five committees and general membership.

Whether it’s sharing a meal at the staff picnic, cheering loudly for our student athletes at games, volunteering in the community, collaborating with campus colleagues at a UAB Learning & Development session, or coming together each month to share updates and information - Staff Council is a welcoming space.

When considering my goals and intentions as Chair of the council, my guiding value is to ensure that we are a supportive voice for staff members and provide opportunities for positive campus engagement.

As I look to the year ahead, I can’t wait to participate in a variety of events such as staff appreciation gatherings, homecoming, our Spring forum, and the Staff Council election cycle!
