Chris Eidson, PhD, OTR/L, FAOTA, associate professor in the UAB Department of Occupational Therapy, has been invited to serve as an Ambassador Emeritus for the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). The new honorary role recognizes distinguished former ambassadors who remain active in professional advocacy and education.
NBCOT’s invitation letter thanked Eidson for his five years of exemplary service as the state ambassador for Alabama. NBCOT ambassadors connect with students and practitioners, represent the organization at professional events, and share information about certification and professional growth. UAB Assistant Professor of Occupational Therapy Deek Cunningham, PhD, OTR/L, SIPT, FAOTA, is Alabama’s current state ambassador.
As an Ambassador Emeritus, Eidson will begin a one-year term in January 2026, offering mentorship to new ambassadors and continuing to support NBCOT’s outreach efforts and mission to advance the occupational therapy profession.
