From “Dancing Queen,” “Mamma Mia,” “Take A Chance on Me” and beyond, this powerhouse production brings the Swedish super group’s iconic hits to life with stunning vocals, dazzling costumes and pitch-perfect arrangements.The internationally acclaimed ABBA tribute dubbed “the world’s greatest” is coming to the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Alys Stephens Performing Arts Center on Thursday, Oct. 9.
The powerhouse production “Arrival from Sweden: The Music of ABBA” brings to life the Swedish super group’s iconic hits, from “Dancing Queen” to “Mamma Mia,” “Waterloo,” “Take A Chance on Me,” “The Winner Takes It All” and beyond. With stunning vocals, dazzling costumes and pitch-perfect arrangements made by ABBA’s own original collaborators, hit after hit is performed with uncanny precision and energy. ABBA’s fan club considers “Arrival from Sweden” as “the closest you will ever get to ABBA,” according to the group’s bio.
The show is set for 7 p.m. at the Alys Stephens Center, 1200 10th Ave. South. Magic City Disco will perform in the lobby before the show starting at 6:15 p.m.

ABBA is Sweden’s biggest music export ever, with almost 400 million records sold. The pop group was formed in Stockholm in 1972 by Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad.
“Arrival from Sweden” was founded by Vicky Zetterberg in 1995 in Gothenburg, Sweden, and soon became one of the world’s most popular and bestselling ABBA show bands. The band has thrilled millions in 70 countries, with 82 successful tours of the United States, according to the group’s bio.
“Arrival from Sweden” is the only group that has been given a previously unreleased ABBA song directly from Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson of ABBA. The song “Just A Notion” was released by “Arrival from Sweden” in 1999 and was again released by the original ABBA in 2021 on their latest record “Voyage.”
