| Gene currently serves as one of the PACS System Administrators. He began working with the UAB Radiology Department on July 11th, 1983. He graduated from the UAB School of Allied Health Professions in December 1985, with a B.S. in Radiological Sciences. He’s held positions as a Diagnostic Staff and QC Technologist, various Supervisory roles, as well as Programmer and Systems Analyst within the Radiology Informatics Section. He worked with Loral Aerospace in developing QC processes for the PACS system they developed for the U. S. Army. He worked with Mike McEachern and Dr. Doug Tucker in developing QC and Technologist workflow processes for the initial UAB Radiology PACS system. Gene retired from the Army Reserve/Alabama Army National Guard, as a Major. Mobilizations include Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm, hurricanes Ivan, Katrina, and Rita. |
