Four new fellows are set to join the UAB Division of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery this August as part of the 2025-2026 Trauma and Surgical Critical Care Fellowship: Kemp Anderson, M.D., Erin Burton, M.D., Aubrey Schachter, M.D., and Taylor Wallen, M.D.

These surgeons bring a diverse range of experiences and a shared passion for trauma and critical care. Division faculty members are excited to welcome them on board for a comprehensive fellowship year at UAB Hospital.

“We’re thrilled to welcome this new group of fellows to UAB,” says Trauma and Surgical Critical Care Fellowship Program Director, Lauren Tanner, M.D. “Their diverse backgrounds and commitment to trauma care make them a great fit for our program, and we look forward to helping them grow into the next generation of leaders in trauma and acute care surgery.”
