Get to know Dr. Francis better with three quick questions!
Why did you pursue a career in this field?
Francis: I pursued radiology because it fits how my brain works, to look for things that deviate from a pattern. I love the collaborative aspects and how it allows the opportunity to work alongside other physicians. Lastly, almost every patient entering the hospital will have some sort of imaging, so even though it’s often from behind the scenes, the potential to make a difference in patients’ lives is vast.
What was your first job?
Francis: I worked at a sno-cone/ice cream shop as one of my first jobs. After I got my license, I got to drive the sno-mobile (an old van) to the baseball/softball fields during games.
If you could do any other job, what would it be?
Francis: This is a tough one! I think I would have enjoyed being an archaeologist. I love history. I also love animals, so having a little farm or working in an elephant sanctuary or at an elephant rescue is something I would have enjoyed. Maybe that will be my retirement plan!
