The Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) Research & Education (R&E) Foundation recently expressed its appreciation to Christopher T. Hensley, M.D., Ph.D., assistant professor in the UAB Department of Radiology, for his recent service on the foundation’s grant review study sections.

“It was very rewarding to participate in the foundation's grant review study sections,” Hensley said. “The RSNA has been an incredibly encouraging contributor for me to continue to pursue an academic career in radiology with a significant research component, and it was great to help support the foundation in its grants program."

Each year, the R&E Foundation relies on the commitment and expertise of volunteer reviewers to uphold the highest standards in its grantmaking process. This year, reviewers evaluated more than 250 applications, contributing to the foundation’s distribution of more than $4.7 million in research funding worldwide.

Hensley’s participation helped ensure that innovative research and education in radiology continue to advance despite the ongoing challenges in research funding. His contributions play a vital role in shaping the future of the field and supporting the next generation of investigators.
