The University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Pediatrics is proud to introduce Kimberly Jerkins, a committed staff member of the Pediatric Administration team!

Jerkins has been a part of the Division of Pediatric Allergy, Immunology and the Division of Pediatric Rheumatology for 23 years, serving as administrative supervisor. In her role, she strives to play a supportive part within the office to help operations run smoothly while contributing to the department’s mission of caring for children and families.

She describes her job in one word: rewarding. “I enjoy making a positive difference each day whether it be within the office or speaking to a parent on the phone,” said Kimberly. “I work with an amazing group of providers and staff who genuinely care about each other and the families we serve. I feel like I have the best administrative team.”

Her dedication over more than two decades is reflected in her professional growth and the lasting relationships she has built. Kimberly said she is especially proud of her years of service at UAB and the opportunities it has provided her to grow while staying connected to the families her division supports.

Outside of work, Kimberly enjoys reading and spending quality time with her family. One of her favorite books, Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers, is meaningful because of its message of hope, forgiveness and unconditional love.

When asked about local favorites, Kimberly recommends Chuy’s at The Summit Birmingham for its creamy jalapeño dip, a longtime favorite spot she enjoys visiting.
