Kimberin David 2019WEBDavid Kimberlin, M.D., distinguished professor in the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases, has been elected to the Association of American Physicians (AAP) Council. He will serve a term for five years beginning May 1, 2025 through April 30, 2030.

The AAP was established in October 1885 as an elected society of the leading physician-scientist in America who are the pinnacle of long lasting and impactful contributions to improving the health of all Americans.

The AAP Council is responsible for reviewing the nominee applications for admittance to the AAP.

“I am honored to serve the AAP as council member,” said Kimberlin. “UAB has many esteemed faculty that have been elected as members of the AAP over the years, and I hope to contribute to the advancement of the society’s mission during my years on council.”

Kimberlin, a renowned physician-scientist in the field of pediatric infectious diseases, serves as the associate vice president for Clinical Trials at UAB. In the Department of Pediatrics he serves as vice chair for Clinical and Translational Research and co-director of the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases.
