Faculty Liaison (205) 934-1186
Trey joined the Harbert Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in March 2025 as the Faculty Liaison—a new role created to strengthen engagement and support for UAB innovators. He brings a diverse background in clinical, research, and commercialization settings. Trey holds a dual Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from Samford University and an MBA from UAB, along with bachelor’s degrees in Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences.
Prior to joining HIIE, Trey supported the advancement of key initiatives at Southern Research, serving as both the Program Manager for Station 41’s Therapeutics Accelerator and as a lead in managing the organization’s IP efforts as the IP Strategy & Licensing Manager. In these roles, he led IP portfolio strategy, supported early-stage drug development, and collaborated closely with the HIIE team to manage technologies and drive commercialization opportunities.
Trey is passionate about bridging the gap between academic discovery and market-driven impact to deliver innovative, life-changing care to patients. Outside of work, he plays in the Birmingham Dart League, enjoys DIY projects around the house, and loves spending time with his fiancée and their big Italian families.
