A Wellscreen is a free 15-minute health screen for all UAB, UAB Hospital, LLC, UA Health Services Foundation, UAB Health System, and Cooper Green employees who are eligible for a medical plan. Wellscreens measures blood pressure, total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, blood sugar, BMI, triglycerides, and cholesterol/HDL ratio. Employee Wellness offers the annual biometric screening program in partnership with Live HealthSmart Alabama.
Employees eligible for the My Health Rewards program can earn up to $350 a year by accumulating points to reach tiers valued at $50, $150 and $350. To rise to the next tier, employees must complete a “key behavior,” which includes actions such as age/gender specific screenings, care-management programs, teeth cleanings and a Wellscreen visit!
Can’t make a Wellscreen?
Employees who are unable to schedule a Wellscreen or have already had lab work taken after January 1 that meets the requested metrics can earn points toward their My Health Rewards incentive by having a health care provider complete a Wellscreens Physician Fax Form. Employees should have their fax form completed and faxed to HealthSmart at 205-996-2974 by November 30.
