Dr. Culver most recently led a group of 11 students on the “Exploring Sustainability in Copenhagen” faculty-led program during fall break 2024. During the program, students participated in activities that allowed them to explore innovative sustainability initiatives in Denmark, including a city-wide scavenger hunt, examination of the city’s waste disposal process, and a presentation by the Technical and Environmental Administration of the City of Copenhagen on green and sustainable urban development. The program blended rigorous academic content with an immersive study tour that challenged students to apply economic models to real-world environmental issues.
Prior to program departure, Dr. Culver laid a strong academic foundation that centered around timely global themes and prepared students for travel through pre-departure lectures and instruction. During the program, students felt seen, heard, and supported by Dr. Culver, describing the experience as seamless, engaging, and enriching.
