Devin Manigault, left, is presented the Jones Memorial Scholarship by CCEE Chair Avinash Unnikrishnan.

Devin Manigault, a senior in the UAB Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering, was recently awarded the 2025 Billy Jones Memorial Traffic Engineering Scholarship Award.  The award is given annually by the Alabama Section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ALSITE) to one undergraduate student at an accredited Civil Engineering program in Alabama based on academic performance, leadership activities, and career objectives.

The award is the latest in a series of accolades earned by Manigault. A native of Mobile, Manigault came to UAB as a member of the Blazers football team. He left athletics to focus on academics, and that focus resulted in his being named the CCEE Department's Student of the Year earlier this semester. He has been named to the UAB President’s list five times and the Dean’s List twice. He is a recipient of a UAB Merit Scholarship and holds a 4.0 GPA in his engineering coursework (with a 3.94 overall GPA). He is a member of the UAB Chapters of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and American Concrete Institute (ACI), as well as the Institute for Transportation Engineers (ITE).

Since 2024, Manigault has worked as a project management intern for Stone Building. In that role he assists the superintendent and project manager with daily operational tasks and supervises temporary labor crews.

He plans to graduate from UAB in December.
