About the Program

No matter your discipline or prior experience, the 15—hour curriculum in the Graduate Certificate in Applied Data Analytics and AI Engineering welcomes learners from across fields, including business and finance, public health and healthcare practice, nursing, education, communications, media, public policy, and the social sciences. It is structured to support students who are new to programming or data analytics. Offered by the School of Engineering’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, this certificate equips learners with the technical and analytical skills needed to develop high-quality data analysis systems. Students will explore predictive modeling, data analysis and visualization, data mining, cloud computing, and software engineering practices. Students will learn how to design, build, and maintain data-driven software systems using industry-relevant programming tools, through supported instruction and hands-on application, regardless of prior technical background.

The certificate integrates foundational instruction in discrete mathematics, probability and statistics, computer science, and managerial science with applied learning opportunities in real-world computing environments. It also focuses on the development of essential communication skills, ensuring graduates are well-prepared to convey technical information clearly and effectively to both clients and colleagues.
