Lori Bateman

Lori Bateman (PhD 2014) is an Associate Professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Population Science.

She also leads Community & Stakeholder Engagement for the Center for Clinical and Translational Sciences and serves as faculty lead for Partnerships & Engagement in the UAB Comprehensive Healthy Living Research Center. Her research focuses on community engaged interventions that aim to prevent chronic disease and improve health outcomes, and she maintains a robust portfolio of federally, foundation, and institutionally funded research. Her work also addresses cancer prevention and early detection in low resource and persistent poverty settings, focusing on colorectal, breast, and cervical cancer screening initiatives in the Deep South and low and middle income countries.
