Rising University of Alabama at Birmingham senior Nole Jones will compete at the National Association of Teachers of Singing National Student Auditions in Greensboro, North Carolina, on July 7. After winning both the state and Southeastern regional competitions, he is one of 14 men advancing as national semifinalists in the College Music Theatre Men division.
Jones, of Northport, is a double major in the UAB College of Arts and Sciences’ departments of Music and Theatre, and is a student of Kristine Hurst-Wajszczuk, DMA, associate professor of voice and director of opera. Jones also is in the UAB Honors College’s Experiential Learning Scholars Program. He is the recipient of a UAB Institutional Scholarship.
