Davis joined the UAB faculty in 1991, and is the current department chair. He received the UAB Alumni/Ellen Gregg Ingalls Teaching Award in 1997, the UAB Caroline Ireland Prize for Scholarly Distinction in 2010 and the UAB President’s Award for Teaching Excellence in 2011. His teaching interests include US labor, transnational labor, History of Film: US labor history, the Great Depression, and the 1950s.
