Roxi Rogers is a sophomore from Kimberly, Alabama studying marketing. She recently sat down with Collat's Alumni & Development Office to share her experiences at UAB and the Collat School of Business.

Q:  At Collat, I'm involved with __________________.

A: I’ve been fortunate to be involved in both the Freshman and Sophomore Leadership Academies here at Collat, which have helped me grow tremendously. I also work with UAB’s Collat Professional Education team, where I get a behind-the-scenes look at the programs that support professionals in our community.

Q:  What made you choose to attend UAB Collat? 

A: After touring Collat, I immediately knew this was the place for me. Everyone I met was so kind, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about what they do. From that first visit, I could tell I would thrive here—and I have.

Q:  What is your favorite part about Collat? 

A: What I love most about Collat is the constant sense of support that surrounds you—from faculty and staff to fellow students. It truly feels like a community where everyone is rooting for each other’s success. There’s always a new opportunity to grow, whether it's through mentorship, hands-on experiences, or just encouraging conversations. That culture of support and growth is what makes Collat so special.

Q:  Who is your favorite professor or class and why? 

A:  One of my favorite professors at Collat is Mrs. Cooper, who taught my BUS 101 course. She explained things clearly, made the material approachable, and created such a welcoming environment. It really set the tone for my Collat experience.  

Q:  The store I frequent the most is __________________. 

A:  TJ Maxx and Trader Joe's!   

Q:  Describe your day in a six-word sentence. 

A:  Be the reason something good happens.  

Q:  What's the closest thing to you that is green? 

A:  An Alani Nu Energy Drink. These things have a hold on me!  

Q:  Who are the people who make your life better? 

A:  Definitely my family, my friends, and my amazing coworkers. Their support and positivity mean everything to me.  

Q:  What is the best advice you ever received? 

A:  "Do the things today that you might not be able to do tomorrow." It’s a reminder to live intentionally and take advantage of every opportunity.
